Delta to add Boston-Reykjavik daily seasonal flights for summer 2027

The reported schedule would extend outside peak summer, covering shoulder-season dates in spring and fall. It would join other new Delta 2027 routes: Boston-Venice starting May 7, Detroit-Athens starting June 8, and Austin-Paris Charles de Gaulle starting March 27.

Delta previously flew Boston-Keflavík in May 2021 and discontinued it that September, according to the report. The airline first served Iceland from New York JFK in June 2011. The new Boston service would add to Delta's competition with JetBlue in Boston.

Key points

  • Daily seasonal BOS-KEF service is reported for April 12-Oct. 30, 2027.
  • Aircraft: Boeing 757-200 with Premium Select recliner seats; no Delta One lie-flat cabin.
  • KEF would be Delta's 14th long-haul destination from Boston.

Tip: If planning a 2027 Iceland trip, check the reported April 12-Oct. 30 window and compare late-April/early-May or September-October dates outside peak summer.

Air Canada and United add six Canada-U.S. routes for summer 2027, and seek to expand their joint venture

Air Canada's summer 2027 transborder additions centre on three new non-stop links: Toronto–Louisville, Montréal–Indianapolis and Edmonton–Newark. The Toronto–Louisville route opens in late April before moving to daily frequency in May, and Edmonton–San Francisco will switch to the larger Airbus A220. On the United side, the schedule adds seasonal Newark–St. John's service, new Denver–Ottawa and Denver–Québec City flights, extra Washington–Québec City frequencies and 65 per cent more daily seats between Denver and Winnipeg.

The two carriers have agreed to renew and expand the Transborder Joint Business Agreement that has underpinned their Canada-U.S. scheduling since 2022, and have applied to Transport Canada for approval of the amended and restated version. The partners say the arrangement supports more than 1,200 connecting itineraries and direct transborder service from gateways including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Québec City, Regina, St. John's and Winnipeg.

Key points

  • Toronto–Louisville begins in late April, moving to daily service in May; Montréal–Indianapolis and Edmonton–Newark also launch next summer.
  • United adds seasonal Newark–St. John's, Denver–Ottawa and Denver–Québec City, and lifts Denver–Winnipeg daily seats by 65 per cent.
  • Renewal and expansion of the transborder joint business agreement is subject to regulatory approval, with an application filed with Transport Canada.

Tip: If you are planning a U.S. trip from Toronto, Montréal or Edmonton in summer 2027, check schedules for the new non-stop options rather than defaulting to a connection through a hub — but confirm that the joint business agreement renewal has been approved before relying on coordinated connections and through-fares.

United launches Starlink tracker so travelers can check their flight

The tracker accepts a flight number and travel date, returning whether that flight is scheduled on a Starlink-equipped aircraft. It also displays rollout statistics across the fleet, so readers can see progress by hub and by aircraft type rather than checking individual flights one at a time.

AwardWallet reports that United's Starlink installation stood at 640 aircraft as of October 16, equal to 43% of the fleet. Chicago O'Hare showed the highest hub availability at 54%, while the CRJ and Embraer regional jet fleets were listed as fully equipped.

Key points

  • United's tracker lets travelers enter a flight number and date to check for Starlink-equipped aircraft.
  • 640 aircraft, or 43% of the fleet, had Starlink installed as of October 16, per AwardWallet.
  • Chicago O'Hare leads hub availability at 54%; CRJ and Embraer aircraft are fully equipped.

Tip: Before booking or choosing seats, look up your flight number and date in United's tracker to confirm the aircraft is listed as Starlink-equipped; check again closer to departure, since the rollout is still in progress.
